It boasts an open systems architecture and modular design to support future growth for onboard processing, compatibility with alternate video sources, and the adoption of a new communication protocols. The bezel of the PFD-1209 can also be customized to include up to 28 pushbuttons, rocker/rotary switches, and a removable inclinometer.

The Primary Flight Display 12 x 9 (PFD-1209) from Intellisense is a mission-ready primary flight display that is certified to the highest Design Assurance Level (DAL A) for airborne electronic hardware and software. The PFD–1209 is fully ruggedized for airborne operational environments with MIL-STD environmental and EMI/EMC compliance to greatly improve efficiency and reduce costs. It features UXGA resolution (1600 x 1200) with a dual mode backlight that is sunlight readable with a luminance greater than 300 foot-Lamberts (fL) and night-vision compliant to MIL-STD-3009 and MIL-L-8762A standards.

The PFD–1209 boasts an open systems architecture and modular design to support future growth for onboard processing, compatibility with alternate video sources, and the adoption of a new communication protocols. The standard configuration includes four ARINC-818 and two DVI-D video interfaces and display communication through four RS-422 channels. It also comes with customizable bezel configurations that include up to 28 pushbuttons, rocker/rotary switches, and a removable inclinometer.
