Radio Frequency, mmWave, and Radar
Compact, lightweight, and wireless radio frequency (RF) solutions are Intellisense’s specialty. We have engineered dozens of portable RF, mmWave, and radar products that assist and protect soldiers out in the field. One of these solutions is a compact radar system that helps detect unmanned aircraft at high altitudes using a lightweight and portable radar that was less than 100 cubic inches in volume and can be mounted on the top of a backpack.
Lidar
While traditional radar systems transmit radio waves to detect objects at great distances, lidar systems use laser light that is invisible to the human eye to more quickly and accurately gather this important information. Intellisense has made many advances in miniaturized, portable lidar technology, including portable, wireless sensors that uses light to determine wind speed and help in terrain mapping.
Infrared Imaging
The words “night vision” often invoke green-tinted images infused with large blooms of light. Intellisense is changing that perception with one of the world’s first full-color night vision cameras. By integrating infrared imagery with augmented intelligence that improves pixel resolution and color balance, our military and commercial customers have improved scene analysis and target identification. Intellisense is also developing “compound eye” technology to offer even greater imaging capabilities on the U.S. military’s unmanned aerial vehicles.
Sensor Integration
The infrared, radar, and lidar technologies that Intellisense develops all have their own strengths, which is why we integrate each of these systems into compact, rugged and reliable solutions that best fit the needs of our customers. One product combines these capabilities to locate, identify, and track unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). These sensing technologies work collectively to protect soldiers from unseen enemy UAS.
