The Power Distribution Unit (PDU) from Intellisense Systems is the compact, expandable, adaptable solution that serves as a form-fit-function replacement for circuit breakers on legacy aircraft and ground vehicles. It delivers a high-performance, reliable, and safety-critical design for a variety of vehicle platforms that ensures the most size, weight, and power (SWaP)-efficient solution while also minimizing the impact to changing the line-replaceable units (LRUs). This increases availability, mitigates diminishing manufacturing sources, and reduces price, as well as improves the Mission Capable Rate, range and lethality of mission-critical vehicles.

Intellisense’s Power Distribution Unit (PDU) is an innovative, expandable, adaptable solution that serves as a form-fit-function replacement for legacy circuit breakers. The PDU draws on our high reliability avionics products, proven innovative designs, prototypes, and state-of-the-art electronic and mechanical computer-aided design (ECAD/MCAD) closed-loop development. It delivers a high-performance, reliable, and safety-critical design for a variety of vehicle platforms that ensures the most size, weight, and power (SWaP)-efficient solution while also minimizing the impact to changing the line-replaceable units (LRU). This increases availability, mitigates diminishing manufacturing sources, and reduces price, as well as improves the Mission Capable Rate, range and lethality of mission-critical vehicles.

The PDU employs a modular open systems architecture (MOSA), making it highly flexible and adaptable for a variety of platforms. It supports both high and low voltage direct current (DC) with up to 270 volts DC per breaker, as well as supporting up to 115 volts of alternating current (AC) at 400 hertz. A PDU unit also includes partitioned, fully redundant power supplies with interruption-free, passive failover. And using active failover, the two main system controllers are partitioned and fully redundant.

With Intellisense’s proven avionics systems experience, the PDU delivers an efficient, highly reliable, lower cost solution for platforms in need of a form-fit-function replacement for on-vehicle circuit breakers.
