Intellisense Systems has won its third U.S. Air Force Pitch Day in three years with a proposed munitions standard that incorporates the innovative use of its cylindrical design and an open system architecture.
Earlier today, Intellisense Systems, Inc. won a Weapons Pitch Day contract award from the Air Force Research Laboratory Munitions Directorate (AFRL/RW). Their winning proposal addresses the need for more interoperability at the hardware level with a munitions standard that fits within existing cylindrical modular defense systems. Intellisense will leverage the design of its proven, rugged, and customizable IWOS to help bolster the interoperability of U.S. Air Force munitions. This solution will reduce weight and waste while greatly improving flexibility.
The U.S. Air Force has hosted to several “Pitch Days” to connect with small businesses and solicit solutions through accelerated, same-day contracting process for entrepreneurs, engineers, and innovators. At the Weapons Pitch Day, the third of 2022, the U.S. Air Force Armament Directorate awarded a grand total of $29.5 million in funding to 16 small businesses. Each individual contract is valued at up to $1.8 million. These contract awards were handed out in a ceremony today dubbed “The Million Dollar Moment.” The event also featured keynote addresses from leaders in the AFRL/RW as well as a meet-and-greet.
This is the third pitch day award that Intellisense has won, having previously received two pitch day awards in 2019.
