SBIR Phase III contract recognizes Intellisense’s proven ability to transition research to production.
October 6, 2025 – Torrance, CA – Intellisense Systems, Inc., based in Torrance, California, has been awarded a $7,654,394 contract by the U.S. Air Force to develop Next Generation Nuclear Flash Blindness protection systems.
The cost-plus-fixed-fee contract covers engineering and manufacturing development, as well as low-rate initial production, to advance protective technologies that enable aircrew to safely and effectively operate in nuclear environments. The system will replace the legacy EEU-2A/P and is designed to provide comprehensive protection against both flash blindness and retinal burn.
Work will be performed at Intellisense’s Torrance facility and is scheduled for completion by March 26, 2027. The award is a sole-source Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase III acquisition. Fiscal Year 2025 research and development funds totaling $3,216,947 are being obligated at the time of the award.
The contracting activity is the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Combat Readiness, Human Systems Division, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio (Contract FA8606-25-C-B007).
