Intellisense Partners with DS2 to Develop Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK)

Intellisense recently won a contract award with Dynamic Software Solutions to execute software services that improve weather reporting and situational awareness.

Intellisense Systems, a leading provider of advanced sensing and display solutions, recently won a contract award with Dynamic Software Solutions (DS2), a producer of large scale enterprise solutions from the federal, defense, and civil sectors, to develop software that improves weather reporting and situation awareness. Together, Intellisense and DS2 will develop the Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) plug-in, which integrates Intellisense Systems’ weather station technology into this military situational awareness app. The app will process and report environmental data collected by Intellisense’s proven line of Micro Weather Stations (MWS®), which collect over 20 environmental parameters from a single, self-powered, wireless unit that weighs just 3.2 pounds. The MWS transmits this information over a cellular or Iridium satellite connection.

DS2 has considerable experience developing geospatial solutions for the Department of Defense (DoD) and has positioned itself to be a primary force in offering development services. Their staff has extensive experience in the aerospace industry, and like Intellisense Systems, they have achieved the CMMI Level 3 quality benchmark.

“ATAK represents today’s standard in military situational awareness,” affirms Richard Pruitt, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. “The Air Force Research Laboratory created a remarkable framework used by thousands of users. As a result, military agencies and commercial firms must adopt and integrate this technology quickly. DS2 is poised to support them through our extensive history and background integrating geospatial solutions with 3rd party solutions.”
