The University of Utah is deeply invested in sustainability and preservation. With its primary campus nestled at the base of the Wasatch Mountain Range, the university must monitor a variety of environmental factors, including precipitation, air quality, and humidity, to ensure the safety of its full-time students, faculty, and staff. They currently use weather data gathered by Micro Weather Stations placed throughout the most remote areas of the state to support environmental science research and assess fire weather risk.
