The Smart Video Display Terminal 6 x 8 (SVDT-0608) is a mission-ready, multi-function, smart combat systems display and computing platform that brings the latest multi-core processing technology to a high pixel density XGA resolution (1024 x 768) display. It serves as a platform for aircraft modernization, new build, or as a form-fit-function replacement to improve situational awareness, target detection/recognition, reliability, and optical performance, while also decreasing weight and support costs. Based on a completely modular design, the SVDT-0608 supports open architecture standards to enable future growth and interface compatibility while enabling customer OFP installation.
The SVDT-0608 boasts a flexible design that features six VITA 65 3U OpenVPX slots, maximizing upgradeability and interoperability with custom modules. The advanced Single Board Computer (SBC) offers powerful processing and graphics capability with 7th Generation CPU and HD Graphics GPU. The system is designed for a wide variety of avionics interfacing capability, with Gigabit Ethernet and dual-redundant MIL-STD-1553 channels and support for legacy video, or digital video formats. It can also be furnished in landscape or portrait mode.
The SVDT-0608 leverages state-of-the-art display technology for improved viewing angles, contrast, and color performance. It is fully ruggedized for harsh airborne environments and includes selectable day and night brightness. This advanced display and computing platform could also be deployed on other display sizes.
